Dr. Jasny,
The Union of Concerns Scientists recently released a report titled Scientific Integrity in Policymaking

To confirm some of what this report fears, I have extended what has been a confined scholarly discussion.
This discussion is a technical and precise discussion that should be judged on the scientific and formal merits. I offer this as a means to drill down into what might be a deeper level of causation in regards to the concerns expressed.

I would like to talk with you, and others at AAAS, regarding the deeper issues that are framed by scientific reductionism, and logical positivism, and the positive and negative consequences of these viewpoints on science, in particular those aspects of natural science that has to address complexity.
As stated in the above URL, some scholars have a conjecture that poor science has lead to structural problems in the way that the intelligence community goes about it's business.
Of course, the other issue has to do with IF the intelligence communities’ structural problems were reduced in the way suggested by our analysis, would our society also need to have "advanced knowledge technology".
