Paul,
I have encountered your problem many times--and always among the brightest of the brightest. You identify yourself too much with your own ideas.
Your ideas may be important--leave that for another discussion--but you are NOT your ideas.
You need to worry for a while not about what you THINK but what you ARE. I am myself an idea person, but believe me, there is more to an individual than just ideas.
You have to change your manner of communication, and you have to allow yourself to be more sensitive to the social environment in which you operate.
I've been very busy (trying to survive, actually) and have not had time to do anything other than archive your various messages--no, I've not read them. If you like, provide me a phone number and I'll try calling you, maybe Thursday. I cannot actually solve your problem—only you can do that--but perhaps I can explain the source of your difficulty.
