Dick,

The fundamental principle is that natural languages can be used as precisely as any artificial language.  Any vagueness or imprecision in natural language is caused by the speaker's laziness, inability to write clearly, or failure to analyze the subject matter in sufficient depth.  I will grant that most natural language texts are vague or imprecise for one or more of the above reasons -- but that is not the fault of the natural language.

Fine.  I recommend English for that purpose.

As I said before, go read the CLCE specifications:

Common Logic Controlled English

Please note that CLCE is an unambiguous language that can be read (and written) by native English speakers without having to learn a new syntax.

As I have said many times before, SYNTAX IS NOT THE PROBLEM.  The real problem is in the subject matter.  If you understand the subject matter sufficiently precisely, you can state your ideas in English or any other natural language as precisely as in AL.

But if you don't understand the subject matter precisely, you can't express yourself precisely in any language -- natural or artificial.

Please repeat the following mantra 1,000 times:

    SYNTAX IS NOT THE PROBLEM.
