I address this note to you because of your plans to create a Center of Excellence at Eastern Michigan University having some qualities of the proposal at:
Academic Knowledge Sharing
Center
as part of a planning process for a National (USA) Project to Establish the Knowledge Sciences as an Academic Discipline
Jelte has sent a private note, which I cannot as yet bring into the public bead games

Nathan is working on transforming the Greenstone (open source) Digital Repository so that the original design elements of the BCNGroup digital Glass Bead Game (dGBG) can be realized. In the original design, there are three circles of activity. The inner circle is protected during the play of the games so that intellectual properties can be identified and proper annotations made where someone's effort creates something of economic/social value.
Jelte's email communication follows a phone call from him this morning, from the Netherlands. He is part of a group who have been following the dGBG on Anticipatory Technology and the Rural American Safe Net:
I would like to receive private comment from members of the extended BCNGroup community regarding next steps.
As Director of BCNGroup founding committee, I have made a tentative decision to make Eastern Michigan University (some group at) the point of contract for possible consulting agreements leading to European collaboration in the now contracted work on ontology mediated informational transparency over shipping and emergency response.
My reading of his phone conversations and his note is that his company may be able to fund the development work proposed to USA’s ARDA as the Anticipatory Technology Challenge Problems, in conjunction with several European governments.
Many groups around the world have almost developed anticipatory technology. What the Anticipatory Technology Challenge Problem anticipates is that world wide ignition of a Semantic Web (as envisioned by Jim Hendler and Tim Berners Lee) will also ignite Anticipatory Web systems.
We need university homes to spread an understanding of this technology to those who must address the cultural social issues related to this profound shift in information science. We remember that anticipatory technology must be by nature HIP, due to the differences between knowledge captured in a persistent form as n-aries and the experience of knowledge in the present moment, using the full capability of the human brain to interact with a stratified physical reality.
