Background discussions on a proposed
Anticipatory Technology Challenge Problem
White Paper on Incident Information Orb
Architecture (IIOA) à
Adi Structural Ontology Part I à
Dear colleagues,
This morning I wish very much that the core team had the type of concept aggregation process over the beads that Nathan and I have envisioned for a long time. I worry about bothering people, but at the same time we need to inform those who sometimes do not listen.
We do apology for this stream of messages.
Dr David Day, at Mitre, we ask that you simply be aware of the discussion, as the BCNGroup still does not know if we will be invited to participate in the Challenge Workshop Orals scheduled at Mitre on Nov 8 - 9.
Nathan, I want you to think about you and Becky living near Eastern Michigan University. I believe that Peter Stephenson and I will be about to offer you a university job if you enroll in an undergraduate program. We are looking to help you and Becky get established someplace. We just want you to remember that this is a decision the BCNGroup founding committee that you be provided this support as soon as we can manage this. Maybe starting in Feb.
Peter Stephenson has a line item on an approved State of Michigan grant to his lab, that should be signed (we hope before Christmas). Peter's and my work is in a White Paper to DHS:
When signed, in early Dec, EMU will convey a purchase order to Ontologystream for the Orb software, and you will receive $500 from that. Not much but we have to go on principle and acknowledge your contributions to the Orb Suite.
The Founding Committee continues to ask for donations
to the membership of BCNGroup
so if a new PayPal income is acquired, ($50 here and there helps) we hope that this will help you bring the BCNGroup e-forum back on line, and perhaps some other bead game services.
Mary Ann (O), We ask that a purchase order be generated from the agency for 25K to acquire a Readware software suite for internal evaluation. If the same purchase order might include the following then the core team would be most grateful:
Consulting and presentation hours for the following individuals
Pat Adi
Tom Adi
Peter Stephenson
Ken Ewell
Nathan Einwechter
Nan Gelhard
Peter Kugler
and travel for these individuals and others so designated to a core team workshop (3 - 5 days), held as soon as possible. We would like to hold this at a retreat facility or bed and breakfast. Not all activities will be for public view.
The topics will be
1)
The
Adi notational system describing the internal mechanisms in the Readware
software, See Part I and Part II. (Pat and
Tom Adi and Ken Ewell)
2)
The
problem of measurement (Peter Kugler)
3)
Generalization
of the Adi notational system into a generative process
establishing structured ontology from real time data flow (Paul Prueitt)
4)
The
application of existing Readware structured ontology
to the task of separating the thematic structure of terrorist chatter from the
thematic structure of mainstream Islamic culture. (Paul Prueitt and Pat Adi)
5)
The
application of existing Readware to e-commerce anticipatory web services (Nan
Gelhard)
6) The application of the generative methodology for producing structured ontology as a real-time complex systems model of cyber threats and vulnerabilities. (Peter Stephenson)
I have made the case that a new capability to understand the interface between the mainstream Islamic community and the terrorists’ cells can be demonstrated in this 3 - 5 day workshop. The capability will then be conveyed to you, completely. There need not be a release of this capability except within the two communities, the community of core scientists and the IC community. The core team is willing to retain some aspects of this as classified.
But someone in the procurement offices has to give us permission to give this capability (based entirely on the existing software, but used in a new way) to one of the groups in the IC. This seems a simply matter, but it has not been up to now.. I repeat, the completed and separable deliverable will be made at the end of the workshop.
Finally,
Nan (Gelhard) please schedule the conversation with Todd on the use of Readware to delineate a dynamic upper ontology in the after the market auto parts markets.
